Memphis Central's class of 2027 defensive lineman Joshua Lane has committed to Memphis football.
"After a great official visit to Memphis, I am blessed and excited to announce that I have committed to the University of Memphis! Thank you to my family, coaches," Lane wrote June 20 on X.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Lane does not have a 247Sports Composite ranking, but he had 12 offers and chose the Tigers over the likes of Ole Miss, USF, and Southern Miss.
According to MaxPreps, Lane played in 10 games last season, registered nine solo tackles, 69 total tackles, and chipped in five tackles for loss.
The Tigers' 2027 class now includes six commits, and Lane joins cornerback Malik Dean as the first two area players to commit to Memphis.
