Colts start wide receiver Josh Downs likely has a pretty high opinion of his skills on the gridiron, and that opinion comes with stats to back it up. After all, Downs has recorded 2,140 yards and 11 touchdowns in his 47 NFL appearances, and has started 28 games for his franchise.

But now, he'll be set to face some of his toughest competition yet this season – his brother, because Caleb Downs was drafted in the first round last month at the 2026 NFL Draft by the Cowboys, who happen to be on the schedule for the Colts this coming season. And Josh does not plan on letting his brother get off easy during the game.

"He told me if he goes to the Cowboys, he's playing nickel. So that's like head-to-head all game," Downs said. "I gotta let him know he's the little brother in this situation."

Colts WR Josh Downs on facing his brother, Cowboys rookie Caleb Downs, this season:

“He told me if he goes to the Cowboys, he’s playing nickel. So that’s like head-to-head all game… I gotta let him know he’s the little brother in this situation.”

Josh's shot at his brother is not the first fired in the sibling rivalry, however. After being drafted by the Cowboys last month, Caleb issued a warning to his brother about their imminent clash in the league when asked about the opportunity to play him.

"He's like, we play the Cowboys this year. I was like, you're gonna have a problem," he said.
