Jose Mourinho ready to back Real Madrid youngster after successful loan spell


Earlier this week, Endrick penned an emotional farewell letter to the fans of Olympique Lyon who showered love on him throughout his six-month loan stint in France.


After all, the player not only enjoyed on the field during his time in the Ligue 1 but also became a very loved figure at the club, but Real Madrid have come calling and the player is prepared to redeem himself at his dream club.


The young Brazilian left the club on loan in January, just before the sacking of Xabi Alonso.


By the time he returns, he will encounter a new manager and a big part of the role he will play is expected to depend on who is on the sidelines.

While Real Madrid’s upcoming presidential elections throw some uncertainty on Jose Mourinho’s arrival, all signs point to him taking over if the likely outcome of Florentino Perez winning the elections unfolds.


On that front, Fabrizio Romano’s update (h/t The Madrid Zone) on Mourinho’s stance on Endrick becomes extremely relevant.


The Italian journalist states that the Portuguese manager believes in Endrick and thinks that he will be an important player in his dynamics.


Needless to say, the player will, thus, stay at Real Madrid next season beyond any doubt.

When Endrick arrived at Real Madrid, he lacked any top-flight European experience. His output in front of goal was good, but his intensity on the field and work off the ball were far from encouraging.


Having now experienced regular playing time in a top-flight European league, the Brazilian star will return to Madrid as a more mature and polished player who can contribute more to the team as a starter.


During his loan stint in France, the teenager scored five goals and provided seven assists for Lyon in Ligue 1 while averaging 1.9 key passes and 3.1 shots per game.
