Jose Mourinho’s camp not too worried about delay in Real Madrid appointment – report


Although it is almost guaranteed that Jose Mourinho will become the head coach at Real Madrid next season, the delay is announcement has caused a lot of anxiety lately.


Recent reports suggest Real Madrid will now have to pay as much as €15 million in order to sign Mourinho, having missed the payout deadline for the release clause.

According to Diario AS, Mourinho’s camp remains calm about the situation despite the unprecedented delay in the announcement.


The Portuguese tactician’s camp is aware that everything is still under control, and Real Madrid may have already discussed every possible delay with SL Benfica.


Every transfer rumour surrounding Real Madrid so far have included Mourinho, and it is clear that the club are heeding the Portuguese for their transfer policy this summer.


Keeping that in mind, Mourinho remains calm about his situation and the apparent delay.

The delay in appointing Mourinho as the new coach can be linked to a multitude of factors, but none more so than the upcoming Real Madrid presidential elections.


It promises to be the first presidential election since 2006, with Florentino Perez’s authority now being challenged by Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme.


Real Madrid are expected to announce Mourinho only after the election. The report suggests the delay caused by the election is not a problem for the Portuguese tactician.


Another factor could simply be that the season is still not technically over and Real Madrid were initially planning to wait after the last game of the campaign before announcing a new coach.
