The Oregon Ducks football team has already had a successful 2025 NFL draft with both defensive tackle Derrick Harmon and offensive lineman Josh Conerly, Jr. going in the first round, but they are far from done.

According to ESPN's Day 2 mock draft, former Oregon defensive end Jordan Burch would still don the green and yellow, but for the Green Bay Packers.

According to writer Matt Miller, Burch would be a typical Green Bay selection, historically.

"The Packers were rumored to be doing work on Round 1 edge rushers before bucking trends and selecting a wide receiver at No. 23. Burch has the high-end physical traits Green Bay generally goes for along the defensive line," he said.

But the Packers need to have a defensive end who rushes the quarterback more consistently than they did in 2024. In post from Zach Kruse of PackersWire.com, Green Bay needs more bodies at that spot to create competition in fall camp.

"The Packers need to do a better job consistently disrupting the quarterback with four rushers. Dominant play from the edges is one way to accomplish the goal," Kruse said. "The Packers are expecting Lukas Van Ness to take a big jump in his third season, but this team can't bank on it happening -- especially after his disappointing second season. Brenton Cox Jr. is ascending but also shouldn't be counted on at such an important position. Competition is required."

If it's a competition they want, it's a competition they'll get with Burch on board.
