Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Joe Alt was carted off after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter of his team's Week 4 game against the New York Giants.

Alt's injury occurred in the first quarter after Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux collided with his right leg while rushing the passer. Alt limped off to the sideline after the hit, where he was treated by the Chargers' medical staff.

Eventually, Alt was placed on a cart and taken back to the locker room. The Chargers announced the second-year tackle was "questionable" to return because of the injury.

The Chargers already lost their normal starting left tackle, Rashawn Slater, to a torn patellar tendon before the 2025 NFL season. Alt flipped over from right tackle to take his place, while Trey Pipkins stepped into the starting lineup on the right side.

Austin Deculus stepped into the lineup at left tackle after Alt's injury Sunday.
