Basically stated that they are hoping that he can strengthen and possibly avoid surgery or going on IR.
Also said that when he was in Houston yesterday for a second opinion. If it was bad he was gonna have surgery while there…. Well he’s back in the valley already? Sooo….take from it what you will..

He’s going to take a shot of pain medicine in that shoulder every half and soldier on. Then it’s going to fall off during the offseason

didn't Adrian Wilson once play with a torn labrum all season? happened in training camp but he played with it?

Apparently JJ went to see a specialist in Houston yesterday.

If the shoulder was bad he was due to have surgery there and then. He didn't and he's back in AZ. So seems the intention is to play through it.
So how should Vance coach around it? Would it be better to no longer play him inside? He did well when Chandler was gone. If he indeed wants to play through it then just no more diving tackles.

At this point it sounds like he’s aiming for a comeback but I’d be shocked if he’s effective using one arm. I do think his leadership is more impactful if he’s in pads/active.

Ehhhh. The last time I can remember a Cardinal knowingly sacrificing their future when they needed surgery was Beanie who’s career was ended by it and he still gets **** on. I hope this is different.

I will take this news as encouraging and hope for the best.

The Cardinals can use a boost and having Watt in uniform would help.

He got **** on because Beanie could get tackled by a hand towel.

Geno Atkins did it last year too. Tore it in camp. Played with it (albeit limited snaps) then went on IR in December when their season was over. Depends how bad it is I guess.

For one I'm guessing more limited snaps. Somewhere in the 50-60% range rather than the 75% he's been playing. And there will be games where we will be up enough in the 2nd half where they barely use him.

And I'm guessing they only use him until playoffs are assured then sit him until the playoffs.

Will he be the same though? Maybe he plays but can he play to the same level?
