Does anyone think that the Jets may look at MarTay if they don't match the offer for Coles today (which they are not expected to do)? KFFL says they are negotiating with Conway, but I was just wondering.

Also, KFFL reports that Holliday has offers in hand from us and Seattle, but is waiting to see if two other teams get involved in the bidding. It sounds to me like he's trying to squeeze every last dollar he can out of whoever signs him (which you can't really blame him for doing). Does anyone else think we should either pull our offer, or just leave it as is? I say pull it. I don't wanna overpay for Holliday, what with his recent injury status.

Just curious as to the general consensus here on these issues.

Yeah, ESPN is reporting that the Jets are in serious negotiations with Conway now that they won't match Coles' offer. Guess I shoulda checked that first. D-oh!

I'm still wondering why we weren't interested in Conway. I thought he could have helped us.

Holliday should have his offer withdrawn at this point and let him sink or swim. It is clear he is using the Cards and Seahawks contracts as bargaining chips. The Cards should remove their chips from the table right now.

If you were worried about hollidays injury history then you should definately if not moreso have the same concerns with Conway. The guy is always hurt!

Nah. Leave it on the table. But don't waste any more time on it. Pursue other options, and when Holliday and his agent are finished screwing around and if they get back to us before we go in another direction, do the deal.

Note - Sometimes (though admittedly not often) a player who acts like a complete ass in salary negotiations turns out to be a good teammate in the lockerroom and on the field.
