It's becoming easier and easier to cheer for the New York Jets' 2026 NFL Draft rookie class. The obvious reason is the talent. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq, edge rusher David Bailey, and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. are expected to play important roles in the franchise's future. Each arrived with impressive résumés and high expectations.

As time passes, Jets fans are learning something equally important. These young players appear to be quality people as well. Recently, they visited Goryeb Children's Hospital, spending time with young patients and their families in an effort to brighten their day. Judging by the smiles captured during the visit, the mission was accomplished.

Football players often become larger-than-life figures in the eyes of children. A visit from an NFL player can provide a welcome distraction from treatments, doctor visits, and the challenges many young patients face every day. For a few hours, football replaced worry, and the focus shifted to laughter, conversations, and memories.

Their hospital visit can be below:

A promising rookie class is making the right first impression

The Jets have plenty of reasons to be excited about this rookie group heading into training camp. Sadiq is expected to become an important piece of the offense. Bailey could help strengthen the pass rush. Cooper enters the season with hopes of becoming a key contributor in the receiving game.

Those evaluations will take place soon enough. For one afternoon, however, football took a back seat to something more important. The rookies simply used their time and their platform to bring joy to children facing difficult circumstances, and that's a win everyone can appreciate.

The regular season will ultimately determine how this rookie class is remembered. Moments like this suggest the Jets may have found more than talented football players. They may have added some outstanding people to the organization as well.
