The rebuilding New York Jets desperately need some young stars to emerge throughout their roster. After making three first-round selections during the 2026 NFL draft, including David Bailey at No. 2 overall, hopefully they added a ton of young talent to this roster this offseason. Another offseason acquisition recently got his flowers from ESPN.

Benjamin Solak singled out one breakout star from all 32 NFL teams. For the Jets, he selected nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat. That's pretty great news as Sweat was acquired in an offseason trade with the Tennessee Titans for defensive end Jermaine Johnson II.

"The Jets and Titans executed a rare player-for-player (i.e., no picks) swap when they exchanged Sweat for edge rusher Jermaine Johnson II," Solak wrote. "Sweat is a preposterously talented athlete, with considerable explosiveness at 366 pounds. His effort wanes at times, but Aaron Glenn's greatest strength as a coach is how well he motivates. A fire lit under Sweat could produce one of the more dynamic nose tackles in the league. The flashes have been there for Sweat through two seasons as a Titan, and defensive tackle breakouts tend to come in Year 3 or 4. He's one to watch."

Sweat made a positive first impression on the Jets during offseason workouts. The former Texas Longhorns standout possesses every trait required to develop into a dominant interior lineman. Sweat will attempt to make the Titans regret trading him to the Jets this offseason.

In a shocking twist of good fortune, there are exactly 32 breakout players for this upcoming NFL season, and each one plays for a different team. https://t.co/Lx3qL3TL6g
