Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq remains out of practice after core muscle surgery in May, but he's getting closer to a return.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said today that he's optimistic about Sadiq, who should be on the practice field in a couple weeks and ready to go well before Week One.

"We actually got pretty good news the other day," Glenn said. "I'm just crossing my fingers, I'm going to say it's a couple weeks still, but it's not anything that's going to keep him out of the regular season."

The 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, Sadiq played through the injury during his final season at Oregon last year and had the surgery in May. Glenn indicated that once he's fully healed, Sadiq won't need another surgery and the injury will be a non-issue for him going forward.
