Jets' Kenyon Sadiq offers superb TE room scouting report originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
New York Jets tight end Kenyon Sadiq was a surprise first-round pick by the AFC East franchise, as he now comes to the Big Apple to be a key cog in Geno Smith's offense.
But Sadiq isn't the top tight end on the roster, with Mason Taylor and Jeremy Ruckert also in the room.
For some, that trio of tight ends is neither here nor there in terms of being good enough to give Geno genuine options in the passing game, but for others, what Sadiq can bring will give this offense a new lease on life.
But as Kenyon explains, the Jets, if everything clicks, could have a three-headed monster at tight end, beginning with Taylor.
"He [Taylor] does a lot of things really well, whether it's the run game or the pass game," Sadiq said via the team's official website. "But I think the possibilities are endless. And even with Jeremy [Ruckert] in there, really, they can do whatever they want. And I think it's pretty unique and pretty cool, and it kind of just opens it for everyone."

Sadiq a key member of Jets' offense?
Given his athletic profile, you could make that case, yes.
Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall are the top weapons for Geno, but if Sadiq can become a reliable pass-catcher for Smith, I'd imagine he'll see a lot of balls coming his way.
Of course, we can't forget Taylor and Ruckert in this equation either, but Sadiq looms as the better pass-catching option of the trio.
Training camp will give us a good indication of how Kenyon will be used in New York's offense, and given his skill set, coupled with his athletic ability, there's every chance he could start his NFL career with a bang.
