Aaron Glenn was clearly on board with getting running back Breece Hall to stick aroud.
The New York Jets slapped the franchise tag on Hall earlier this offseason with hopes of getting his signed to a long-term extension. That happened in May.
Hall is coming off arguably his best season since he entered the league as the 36th overall pick (second round) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State. Hall finished the 2025 campaign having carried the ball 243 times for 1,065 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and four touchdowns while also catching 36-of-48 targets for 350 yards and one touchdown.
If the numbers are not enough to explain it, the head coach put it in his own words during OTAs.
“It was extremely important," Glenn said. "I’ve talked about it for a while, how good of a player he is for us. To be able to get that done and to get that out of his mind so that he can just go out there and play his game now, that’s always a good thing for us."
As for Hall himself, since signing his extension he believes his past success could just be the start.
"God-willing, we are able to stay healthy and everything goes to plan, I feel like this could be my best season," Hall said.
