As theNew York Jets deal with injuries to rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq and others, the running back room has also been hit with issues, leading to a potential change in the depth chart. While Breece Hall leads the Jets’ running backs, head coach Aaron Glenn gives an update on a young player at the position.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, backup running back Isaiah Davis “will miss at least two weeks” with a knee injury, though it is considered a “minor one.” For Cimini, he would assume that this could lead to more opportunity at training camp for 28-year-old running back Kene Nwangwu, who has been with the team, though in a limited role, since 2024.
“Backup RB Isaiah Davis will miss at least two weeks with a ‘minor’ knee injury, according to Glenn,” Cimini wrote. “It should be more reps for Kene Nwangwu, who probably will make the team because of his kick return ability. CB Nahshon Wright has a hip strain. Rookie CB D’Angelo Ponds (calf strain) is close to returning.”

If there is one thing for sure, New York’s running back unit is led by Hall, who is coming off a career-best season, recording 1,065 yards to go along with four touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Behind Hall for the second running back on the depth chart is Braelon Allen, who has been with the Jets since the 2024 season.
At any rate, it remains to be seen how New York’s running backs will perform in the 2026 season, led by Hall.
