Another in-person interview for the Cleveland Browns head-coaching job has been canceled.

There will be no interview with Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as was scheduled today by a mutual decision, a source confirmed for the Beacon Journal. Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot was the first to report.

Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel previously canceled an interview that was scheduled to have been conducted Jan. 21. McDaniel, hours after canceling, agreed to become the Chargers offensive coordinator.

Minter was looking for some certainty because of his options. He's already interviewed twice with the Baltimore Ravens and the Las Vegas Raiders, while he's also spoken with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.

The Browns are scheduled to have a second, in-person interview with Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski on Friday. They've already spoke with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken this week.

Cleveland's second interview with Los Angeles Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase remains on hold while the Rams are still in the playoffs. The earliest the Browns can speak to him is Jan. 26.

A source tells the Beacon Journal there will be other interviews scheduled, but those have yet to happen. The Browns need to do two in-person interviews with external minority candidates to fulfill the Rooney Rule, which they've done none so far.
