An athletic event in Jersey has announced it will become a qualifying part of the My SwimRun World Championships in 2026.
For the first time, competitors in Swim Run Jersey will be able to earn ranking points towards qualifying for the partnering world championships, organisers said.
The multi-distance event for athletes of all abilities has been taking place in Jersey for five years.
Organisers said the event "remains proudly independent and committed to celebrating the uniqueness, culture and natural beauty of the island".
Hannah Mundy, assistant race director at 3D Events, said: "This partnership with the My SwimRun World Championships is a fantastic opportunity to elevate Jersey's profile on the international stage while staying true to who we are.
"Jersey offers an extraordinary blend of dramatic coastline, stunning natural scenery and a supportive sporting community."
Organisers said the 2026 event would start beneath Mont Orgueil Castle before following an anticlockwise route around Jersey's coastline.
The race will take place on Saturday 5 September 2026 and will feature four distances: Intro (4km), Sprint (20km), Standard (33.4km) and Full (53km).
