Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love met with the New York Giants at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, expressing strong mutual interest and optimism about a potential fit with the team.
The 20-year-old standout, widely regarded as the top playmaker in the 2026 draft class and a possible top-10 selection, described the Giants' coaches as "really cool people."
"I like them a lot, I feel like they like me a lot as well -- hopefully they call my name on draft night and we can continue building better relationships," he said.
Love also highlighted the appeal of joining the Giants' backfield, particularly the chance to play alongside Cam Skattebo.
"Being able to play with a back like Skatt, to have someone who is more of a veteran than me that I can learn from, I’d be able to take away a lot from that," Love added.
Love's impressive college resume includes 1,652 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns in his standout season, plus 2,497 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns over his last two years at Notre Dame.
Analysts praise his versatility as a runner and receiver, big-play speed, and scheme-independent impact, drawing comparisons to dynamic backs like Jahmyr Gibbs.
The Giants, holding the No. 5 overall pick, have shown openness to selecting Love that high under head coach John Harbaugh's best-player-available approach, despite current backs Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Skattebo.
Recent reports indicate the team is seriously exploring top running backs in the draft and free agency to bolster their physical, run-heavy identity.
