Jaylinn Hawkins explains why he chose Ravens over AFC rivals

Jaylinn Hawkins did not enter free agency expecting Baltimore to be the team he would land with after hitting the open market back in March. So what changed once the Ravens entered the picture?

During his appearance on The Collective podcast, Hawkins explained why Baltimore quickly became the right fit.

“Uh not necessarily in the beginning. You know, I kind of um in the beginning I thought I was either going to stay with the Patriots for sure or go to Houston or Dallas. And then, you know, it’s I think it was like Monday or Tuesday. My agent got a call from the Ravens and stuff like that. And, you know, you go through that process and um we end up going with the Ravens. You know, other teams called as well, but I felt like Ravens was the best fit.”

For Jaylinn Hawkins, Baltimore ultimately offered more than just another roster opportunity. The Ravens presented a culture, Jesse Minter's defensive identity, and championship expectation that aligned with what he wanted at this stage of his career. After considering multiple destinations, Hawkins trusted the fit alongside one of the NFL's most respected organizations, giving Baltimore another experienced secondary piece as the franchise continues building toward another Super Bowl run.
