It didn't take long for Jaylen Waddle to impress at Denver Broncos training camp.
During the second ramp-up acclimation session of the summer, Waddle wowed media members with a one-handed catch. He impressed coach Sean Payton well before that.
“There are certain prototypes at every position, and then there is that one where if they can walk on water — he’s one of those players relative to how he runs, how he stops and his competitive instincts," Payton said of Waddle. "There is a clear vision for him. I think the knowledge we had with all the other pieces relative to a trade like that was important.”
Denver traded first-, third- and fourth-round picks to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Waddle and a fourth-round pick this spring. After hauling in 373 receptions for 5,039 yards and 26 touchdowns through his first five seasons, Waddle will look to take the next step with a Broncos team looking to contend for a Super Bowl in 2026.
