Jon Gruden clearly believes in the Denver Broncos going into the 2026 NFL season.

Gruden, who has predicted the Broncos will win the AFC West this fall, discussed Jaylen Waddle's arrival in a recent video for Barstool Sports.

"This man is 27 years old," Gruden said of Waddle. "He has speed, route-running ability, yards after the catch production. ... If you look at Waddle's career average production, you're talking 81 catches, 1,098 yards and six touchdowns per season. That's what he averages coming into Denver. I can't wait to see what Sean Payton does with Waddle, Courtland Sutton and particularly Marvin Mims."

That last remark from Gruden is a notable one. Mims is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and he was surprised by the Waddle trade. Mims is facing an uncertain future with the Broncos, and it remains to be seen what kind of role he'll have in 2026 with Waddle taking on a large workload.

Back to Waddle — the sixth-year pro adds much-needed speed and big-play ability to Denver's offense, and he could help Bo Nix take the next step in the quarterback's third season in the NFL. The Broncos fell one game short of a Super Bowl last season, and fans will hope that the Waddle addition will help them get over the hump in 2026.
