Forward Jaylen Carey is the fifth player to enter the transfer portal for Tennessee basketball, he said via a shared Instagram post.

He joins J.P. Estrella, Bishop Boswell and Clarence Massamba as portal entries all on April 6. Cade Phillips announced on April 3 his intentions to enter the portal.

Carey, a 6-foot-8 junior, averaged 7.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He and senior Ja'Kobi Gillespie were the only two players to appear in all 37 games for Tennessee. He also started in eight games.

Carey started his career at JMU, then transferred to Vanderbilt before coming to Tennessee.

Sophomore Ethan Burg and freshmen Amari Evans, DeWayne Brown II and Troy Henderson are the only remaining players on the roster who got significant playing time in the 2025-26 season.
