Jaylen Brown trade rumor reveals top two trade landing spots for Celtics star originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Jaylen Brown's future with the Boston Celtics has come into focus after the team's failed pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

With the Miami Heat landing Antetokounmpo in a massive blockbuster deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Celtics and Brown have been left in a weird spot. With ESPN's Shams Charania confirming that Boston included Brown in their proposed trade package to the Bucks for Giannis, the 2016 No. 3 overall pick may not be open to returning to the Celtics.

Additionally, Charania went on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday and revealed that the Celtics are listening to offers for Brown.

"My understanding is that the Celtics are listening to interested teams and offers for Jaylen Brown," Charania said. "I wouldn't say they are actively shopping him right now, but the Celtics are listening."

A Brown trade in the near future isn't out of the realm of possibilities, and we may have just learned the top two suitors for the 2024 Finals MVP.

Rockets and Hawks top two landing spots for Brown?

According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets appear to be on the front line of teams interested in acquiring Brown. However, other franchises, including the Portland Trailblazers, are expected to be involved as well.

"If Brown becomes available, look for Houston and Atlanta to be at the front of the line for him, with a number of other teams — Portland has said it’s interested — in the mix," Helin wrote.

Atlanta would be an intriguing landing spot for Brown. Pairing All-Star forward Jalen Johnson with Brown would give the Hawks a dynamic duo for the future and could elevate them into a legitimate playoff contender in the East.

However, Atlanta could have to give up multiple valuable pieces to match Brown's salary and add him, but that's the price you have to pay for an All-NBA player at the end of the day. Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels are two players who could be included in trade talks for Brown if the Hawks are interested.

As for Houston, they need to reshape their roster this offseason after a disappointing playoff exit. Trading for Brown to pair with Kevin Durant would be the ultimate splash move and give the Rockets a player with elite two-way ability.

Houston could include center Alperen Sengun and power forward Jabari Smith Jr. in trade discussions with Boston, as ascending guard Amen Thompson is reportedly close to untouchable.

There could be one issue with Brown heading to Houston. If the 29-year-old does end up getting moved, he would like to be the No. 1 option on his new team. Is Durant willing to take a step back and be the second option on offense for the Rockets?

Overall, Brown's future with the Celtics has never been murkier. We'll see how this situation transpires as the draft kicks off tonight and free agency approaches.
