The Boston Celtics didn't get the trade news they hoped for on Monday night.

It's well-documented that the 18-time NBA champions made a strong push for former Milwaukee Bucks phenom Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Boston featured Jaylen Brown and two first-round picks in a blockbuster trade package for the two-time MVP. Ultimately, the Bucks decided that the Miami Heat’s offer of Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks (including No. 13), one pick swap, and one second-round pick was the best-case scenario for their long-term future.

Before ESPN’s Shams Charania announced that trade, Brown hopped on a Twitch stream to express his frustration with the way the media and fans have perceived him recently.

“To all the people that’s doubted me, that want me to do this, or want me (traded), you’re turning me into a monster," Brown stated.

Combine that with the fact that there will likely be tension between Brown and the Celtics after Boston’s failed Antetokounmpo trade attempt, and there’s a chance things could get interesting for the NBA Finals MVP this season.

If the Brown and the Celtics part ways this summer, Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes believes that the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Clippers could be viable landing spots.

Given that Brown is a Georgia, Marietta native and is likely interested in operating as a clear-cut No. 1 scoring option after playing sidekick to Jayson Tatum for most of his career, the Hawks would arguably be the best fit for the five-time All-Star.

The good news for Brown is that the Hawks are headed in the right direction from a championship-contention standpoint, as they catapulted to the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference after finally parting ways with longtime point guard Trae Young (they fell to the New York Knicks in a relatively competitive first-round playoff series).

A Celtics-Hawks would be a win-win for all parties involved, as Boston could officially announce Tatum as the face of its franchise, the Hawks would land their biggest star since Young, and Brown would get a chance to lead his own team during the next portion of his career.
