Jarren Duran Believes Home Run Could Spark Hot Streak originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Boston Red Sox are starting to get hot, and a key reason is the success of Jarren Duran at the plate.
Boston has gotten off to a slow start, but the Red Sox have won the first two games of their road series against the Kansas City Royals. On Tuesday, Duran had plenty of success as he went 2-for-3 with two walks and a home run, as he had plenty of success as he believes he’s on the verge of going on a hot streak.
“Don’t jinx me, I wish I could say yes,” Duran said postgame on Tuesday. “But it's baseball, and every single day I come in here, I’ve gotta find the swing again. So maybe I won't take any swings tomorrow, and I'll just roll with what I had tonight. It's always good when I can see the ball like I did today, and get on base for the big guys behind me.”
Duran also played well defensively in the win, as he had one of the best games of the season on Tuesday in Boston’s win.
If Duran can get hot, it would be a big boost to the Red Sox’s offense, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa believes it will lead to plenty of success for Boston.
“I think when he gets going, sky's the limit for this team,” said Kiner-Falefa. “I think just seeing him hit the ball, drive the ball all over the field and do what he's doing -- if he can keep this up, who knows where we can be in a month or two?”
The Red Sox will look for a series sweep on Wednesday at 7:40 p.m. ET.
