Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has put recent dating rumors to rest, during his first press conference at the Rome Open. The 22-year-old, currently one of the sport’s biggest stars, was quick to address headlines that had linked him to a Russian model — rumors as reported by Sports Illustrated.

“I was surprised to see some of the photos of me in the press,” Sinner said, referring to images that sparked speculation about his personal life. “In the end, it made me realize that I'm someone important on and off the court. Simply put, I'm not in a relationship.”

Some…less substantive news

Sinner’s measured but firm response was a clear effort to shift the focus back to his game, as he gears up for the tournament on home soil. The photos in question had prompted buzz across social media and sports media outlets, raising questions about the rising star’s private life — a subject he rarely comments on.

Sinner was dating Anna Kalinskaya in 2024. However the pair apparently split at the end of last year and have not been seen together since, and have not followed each other on the social media platforms as well.

Known for his laser-focused dedication to tennis, Sinner emphasized his desire to remain focused on his upcoming matches. His clarification signals that, for now, his priority remains firmly on the court.

Despite the criticism faced by Sinner over his doping ban by WADA, he received a hero's welcome at the Rome open from his fans.

As the Rome Open unfolds, all eyes will be on Sinner’s performance — not his personal life. And if his calm dismissal of the gossip is any indication, he’s more than ready to let his racquet do the talking.
