The roster construction portion of the Jacksonville Jaguars' offseason is largely complete. The roster we see today with OTAs on the horizon is -- for the most part -- the one that the Jaguars will go through training camp and the preseason with.
That said, although it's only a one-year sample size, GM James Gladstone has shown a willingness to continually tweak the roster, even with the NFL draft and initial free agency windows behind us.
Before training camp began last year, Gladstone would sign veteran free agents Emmanuel Ogbah and Dennis Gardeck. These weren't just training camp additions either -- both would go on to carve out roles during the season.
With $9.603 million in available cap space, the Jaguars do not have a ton of cap room to operate. That said, deals at this stage of the offseason won't break the bank either, giving Jacksonville a path to further tweak the roster as needed.
With Gladstone, we also can't rule out the possibility of a trade. During training camp alone last year, we saw the Jaguars trade for Tim Patrick and Khalen Saunders, along with trading away Fred Johnson.
As Gladstone detailed earlier this offseason, an under-discussed benefit of receiving several 2027 compensatory draft picks is that it gives the Jaguars added flexibility to make trades -- not only additional selections in next year's draft.
Including compensatory picks, the Jaguars are currently projected to have 10 selections in the 2027 NFL draft.
Whether or not Gladstone is relatively active again post-NFL draft remains to be seen, but he's shown that he's more than willing to continually reshape the roster if the right player or deal presents itself.
