Atlanta Falcons pass rusher Jalon Walker appears to be the latest player to suffer a significant injury during training camp.

Walker went down with a knee injury toward the end of practice, and there was immediate concern from his teammates. The second-year player had a solid rookie season and has a huge role in the defense heading into the 2026 season.

Losing Walker would be a critical blow to a Falcons defense that was pretty middle-of-the-pack last year but expects to be better this season. At just 22 years old, Walker is an important building block on the Falcons' defensive unit.

Here's the latest on Walker's status.

Walker went down in Tuesday's non-padded practice and needed to be carted off the field, which led to practice ending early. The injury appeared to occur during the Falcons' two-minute drill simulation.

Walker still needs to undergo an MRI on his knee, but the Falcons believe he tore his ACL on the play. That would require Walker to undergo season-ending surgery.

Walker is currently playing on a four-year, $20.5 million deal that runs through the 2028 season. That deal also includes a team option for a fifth-year of the deal, which if the Falcons pick it up, would extend the deal through 2029.
