Well, the Oklahoma City Thunder could return to life without Jalen Williams. At this point, they should be used to it, sadly. The All-NBA talent sustained a fourth hamstring injury in five months. And his second of their current playoff run in their Game 2 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Williams sustained a hamstring injury after the first quarter. He was eventually ruled out. Now, the Thunder face the grim reality of hoping to get past the Spurs without him. He's listed as questionable for Game 3 with hamstring soreness as the 2026 Western Conference Finals is tied at 1-1 apiece.
According to ESPN, Williams is considered day-to-day. That's about as best-case as you could hope for in a doomsday scenario. If we're being real, the Thunder have found a formula for basketball success without him this year. They got to go back to it or risk seeing their playoff journey end.
In OKC's Game 2 win on Apr. 22 over the Phoenix Suns, Williams sustained a third hamstring strain — this time, on his left leg. The Thunder won six consecutive playoff games. A month later, he returned in their Game 1 loss to the Spurs this past Monday.
Expect the Thunder to keep the questionable tab on Williams until he eventually returns — if he does. A lot is up in the air. Meanwhile, the Spurs are dealing with their own health scares. De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper are both questionable for Game 3.
