The Seattle Seahawks remain interested in adding to the quarterback position. General manager John Schneider has a policy of leaving no stone unturned, and that absolutely applies to the NFL draft. Last week, we at Seahawks Wire reported on the news that Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was set to visit the Seahawks. Well, that day has become today, as the former Crimson Tide starter is in Seattle meeting with the team.
This news was broken by ESPN's Adam Schefter. It appears Milroe is on a bit of a west coast tour, as he will visit with the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams later this week.
Despite leading Alabama to an SEC Championship, a trip to the College Football Playoff, and two bowl games, questions persist about Milroe. He has all the physical tools you would want in a quarterback, but his accuracy and decision-making were issues throughout his collegiate career. He is definitely more of a "project" than a prospect for any team that decides to take a chance on him.
At first glance, it does not seem like the Seahawks would be in the market for a quarterback. In addition to Sam Darnold, they brought back Drew Lock after he played a year with the New York Giants. Currently, Seattle's quarterback room has Darnold, Lock, Sam Howell, and Jaren Hall.
However, the Seahawks are flush with draft capital this year, and there's clearly something about Milroe that has them wanting to take a closer look. Perhaps Seattle will spend a mid-round pick on him to see what he could potentially bring to the team, and develop behind Sam Darnold for a year or two.
