The Jacksonville Jaguars' defensive tackle rotation is shaping up to look a bit different than expected.
Of course, leading the way will be Arik Armstead and DaVon Hamilton, but at a heavily rotated position, four or even five players will see regular playing time.
The thought for much of the offseason was that Ruke Orhorhoro would hold the No. 3 spot on the defensive tackle depth chart, but according to John Shipley of Jaguars on SI, that isn't how things have played out so far.
Instead, veteran Matt Dickerson appears to be on his way to again carving out a role in this Jaguars' defense.
Initially last season, Dickerson was on the Jaguars' practice squad. However, as the season progressed, his role expanded, with him emerging as a regular member of the defensive tackle rotation.
Dickerson finished the season with four quarterback pressures, and he graded out well against the run by PFF's metrics.
On the Jaguars' first unofficial depth chart of 2026, Dickerson is listed as Armstead's backup.
It not only looks like Dickerson will be on the initial 53-man roster this year, but he'll again have a regular role.
