How have the Jacksonville Jaguars fared historically against their 2025 opponents?
Now, of course, past results have zero bearing on what happens in the current NFL season, but it doesn't hurt to take a quick look back at how things have played out previously.
With a new coaching staff and GM at the helm, the Jaguars have reshaped their roster this offseason.
Before free agency began, the Jaguars moved on from Evan Engram and released three other players, along with trading Christian Kirk.
Then, since free agency began, the Jaguars have made 10 outside additions, while also not re-signing any of their own unrestricted free agents. As James Gladstone described, it was his goal in free agency to raise the floor of this roster.
Now with the draft on the horizon and the Jaguars having 10 selections--tied for the second-most among any team--the opportunity to not only round out the roster but add some high-impact players is next on the to-do list.
On the field, all eyes will be on Trevor Lawrence and how he bounces back in a new system. But as Coen mentioned recently, it's about providing balance around Lawrence so he doesn't have to be Superman every single player either.
This can be accomplished with an improved offensive line, a stronger running game, and Coen's system, which can schematically create opportunities for Lawrence and everyone else within the offense to exploit.
Both on offense and defense, physical and mental toughness will be prioritized, as will adaptability, which means molding the scheme to the skill sets on the roster and adjusting the game plans as needed based on what the opponent does.
With help from Pro Football Reference, here is the Jaguars' head-to-head record against this season's opponents.
