The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed long snapper Ross Matiscik to a two-year contract extension, the team announced June 17.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth $3.8 million in new money, making him the highest-paid long snapper in the NFL.
OverTheCap lists Los Angeles Chargers LS Josh Harris as the league’s highest-paid at his position at $1.81 million per year.

“Ross’ consistency and ability to get down the field and make plays on special teams gives us an edge in that phase of the game,” general manager James Gladstone said via a statement released by the team. “He has played at an elite level for several seasons and is at the top of the league at what he does.”
Matiscik has been one of the team’s best special teams players since he was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor in 2020. At 29 years old, Matiscik has spent six seasons with Jacksonville, playing in 101 games.
Since entering the league, his 22 special teams tackles are tied for the most in the NFL at his potion. He has earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in each of the last three seasons. The only two players in franchise history to have more Pro Bowl nods are offensive line Tony Boselli and wide receiver Jimmy Smith. Each posted five Pro Bowl appearances each.
Last season, Matiscik played 140 special teams snaps in 2025, totalling four tackles, tied for third in the league among long snappers.
The Jaguars have rewarded multiple players thus far this offseason with contract extension, including defensive end Travon Walker and cornerback Montaric Brown.
