Did anyone notice that Jax ran their FG team on last night with 17 seconds left in the first half and the clock running? They knocked the kick straight through as time expired. Tirico said teams practice that all the time and it's no big deal. Denny ran his team on with 20 seconds left and they get the kick off with 3 seconds left and he's an idiot because they missed. I guess i can only conclude that if Del Rio was coaching the Cards then Rackers would've made the kick ;) . BTW, how good was Jacksonville's defense? Those guys were killing people.

A 31 yarder is a little easier than a 51 yarder

Yeah, the Jags didn't kick their first field goal until 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter?

The crazy thing I noticed in the MNF game was that the Steelers went into their two minute offense with over 4:40 left on the clock! It was insane for them to try and win a game on the road when they were down by two scores!

Cowher should have his head examined.

I hope Green calls him to let him know that this type of boneheaded thinking is not acceptable in the NFL.

I noticed this too, complete lunacy, not huddling, shotgun snaps, and the announcers were actually agreeing with it and in fact suggesting they should pass on every down.

:D

And that netted them how many points ? I believe all it did was turn into 2 INT's and Jax could've put up another score at the end if they wanted. My point is, there isn't a sure thing.Who knows, if Pitts ran Willie Parker a few times in that situation, maybe he breaks a long gainer to get them into FG range or a possible TD.

True, but our strategy didn't exactly work either so it's reasonable to 2nd guess it since MOST NFL teams in that situation do what Pitt did and try to score quickly.

I'm going to take this one further. That sack was on 1st down. We line up, spike the ball. How long would that take, and if there are 12 seconds left, its now 3rd down. Do you pull the Tobin play and try to run an out to get 10 or so more yards? Do you take one more shot at the end zone?
