Dec. 13—HERMANTOWN — Down 17-0, then 24-5, it took a little while for the Bemidji High School boys basketball team to heat up against Duluth East.

But Jaxon Boschee got hot, as did Rhys Sneide. By the end of the first half, the Greyhounds were holding on to a slim 36-34 lead.

The Jacks carried that momentum into the second half, and despite the rough start, Bemidji picked up a 69-64 victory on Saturday, its last game at the Hermantown invite.

The day prior, the Jacks took care of the Hawks in a high-scoring 99-55 win.

Against Hermantown, Boschee and Jayden Bondy led the way with 22 points each. Boschee hit five 3s, while Bondy made three. Sneide scored 16, while Jeron Huseby added 14.

Meanwhile, on Saturday against Duluth East, Sneide led the way with 23 points, shooting three 3-pointers and going a perfect 6-for-6 on the free throw line. Boschee also went 6-for-6 on free throws and scoring 21 points against the Greyhounds.
