The Portland Trail Blazers swung for the fences on Monday afternoon, trading Jerami Grant and Kris Murray for former Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.
This was a surprising move for the Trail Blazers, who could have several players vying for only two guard positions in the starting five. Some of those names now include Morant as well as Damian Lillard, Jrue Holiday, Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe.
As of right now, per Chris Haynes, the Trail Blazers "envision" a backcourt with Lillard and Morant. So here is how the rest of the lineup should look.
Point Guard: Ja Morant
Shooting Guard: Damian Lillard
Small Forward: Deni Avdija
Power Forward: Toumani Camara
Center: Donovan Clingan
Holiday has a player option after this season he could choose not to exercise if he wishes to become a free agent.
Henderson and Sharpe, meanwhile, now become more expendable as trade chips if the Trail Blazers want to make another move.
