Prater suffered a quadriceps injury in Buffalo's victory over the New England Patriots in Week 15.
Here's what to know about Prater's status for Week 16.
Prater has been ruled out for the Bills' game at the Cleveland Browns Kincaid at 1 p.m. Sunday. He did not practice all week leading up to Week 16.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Prater is considered week-to-week.
Prater has made 18 of 20 field goals and 43 of 46 extra points for 97 points in 14 games. His 90% field goal percentage is tied for 12th in the NFL this season. Prater, in his 19th season, is 13th all-time in career points with 1,905.
Buffalo signed veteran Michael Badgley to its practice squad on Tuesday. Badgley will be elevated to play against the Browns. Badgley kicked for the Chargers for three years from 2018-2020 before bouncing around with the Titans, Colts, Bears and Lions. He has a career field goal percentage of 83.1. He played seven games for the Colts this year, recording 48 points after going 10 of 11 on field goal attempts and 18 on 21 on extra points, but he was waived after missing an extra point in a loss to the Texans in Week 13.
Tyler Bass, the Bills' starter from 2020-2024, has been on injured reserve all year with hip and groin injuries and underwent season-ending surgery in November.
