The Masters Tournament is rapidly approaching, with the first events of Masters week a few days away. So, should those visiting the Augusta National or other Augusta area events pack an umbrella?
And it's not just the Masters. The Augusta National Women's Amateur is this week, Sunday is Easter, and the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals also takes place on Sunday.
Forecasters are predicting mild weather conditions with temperatures getting up to the high 80s and low 60s for much of this week and next, though possible showers are in the forecast.
Here's a look at the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service and AccuWeather for Augusta area happenings this week and next:
The Augusta National Women's Amateur is Wednesday, April 1, through Saturday, April 4. The first two rounds will be at Champions Retreat in Evans. Augusta National's course will be closed on Friday, April 5, for practice ahead of Saturday's final round. Here's the forecast:
April 5: Rain is likely on Easter Sunday, but probably after 2 p.m. Expect a high near 83 degrees. There's a 60% chance of rain, with the likelihood increasing in the evening. The low will be around 53.
The Drive, Chip, and Putt National Finals are on Sunday, April 5 − Easter Sunday. Temperatures are forecasted to be about 83 degrees for the high and a low of 53, with a 60% chance of rain after 2 p.m.
