Francis Mauigoa was an ironman at the college level. The Miami product started 42 consecutive games at right tackle, anchoring the Hurricanes' O-line through their run to the College Football Playoff National Championship this past season.

But as Mauigoa prepares to make the NFL leap, the notably durable prospect is suddenly facing questions over his health.

Mauigoa is dealing with a herniated disc in his back, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The injury could reportedly require surgery and sideline Mauigoa for three months if it worsens, though Schefter reports the lineman is currently asymptomatic.

For as talented as Mauigoa is, it's hard to take a player who could miss the majority of their rookie season due to injury. That might push Utah's Spencer Fano ahead on some teams' draft boards.

Schefter says no teams are "overly concerned" about Mauigoa's long-term health, however. So if any of them have conviction about Mauigoa being the clear OT1, he could very well be the pick.

Still, Mauigoa's potential slide is one of the more fascinating storylines to watch during the draft.
