Is Dave McGinnis still ticked at the Cardinals?

Yep. The one who gave us Cardinal fans something to cheer about before we had a winning team. I can't think of a number one pick by the Cards who ever meant as much to this team as Boldin did.

Larry Fitzgerald.

I can remember this -- the F.O. wanted to fire Marmie (DC) at the end of the 2nd season for Mac. Mac said he'd quit if they fired him.

The end result of it was that if Mac insisted, they would do as he wished. But it was sort of understood that if that didn't go so well, Mac himself might find he was on the hot seat next year.

I think Marmie didn't go so well.
That may have been the worst NFL coaching ever assembled. Marmie was DC, Joe Greene was the DL coach and was terrible. McGinnis was horrible. I can't remember the WR's coach's name, who iirc eventually was the OC, was rotten. We had a turnstyle at the OL and OC positions. I remember the names Warhop and Jamieson. I think the RB coach was Johnny Roland. Just a putrid, putrid staff. Granted the Cards were in the habit of not paying assisstant coaches anything back then, but still.

That's not the story that Nidan was selling back when it happened. Mac definitely had say in drafting Leonard Davis and Thomas Jones. Those were his guys. Mac coached Josh McCown at the Senior Bowl.

According to Nidan, at least, Graves shouldn't be blamed for the terrible trade down and the drafting of Bryant Johnson or Calvin Pace because it was outside his control. I've always taken that to mean that Mac made those choices because he was on the hot seat and was given all the rope he needed to hang himself.

I don't remember saying that

And getting a great 2nd rounder doesn't make up for completely blowing a top 6 pick, especially one so obvious for a guy who's a perenial Pro-Bowler who gets non-stop pressure on the QB which is STILL a problem for this team.

But yes, Boldin was a stud. Doesn't make it any better what a horrific trade that was and what we missed out on with that pick.
Doesn't everyone realize that had the Cardinals choosen Suggs with the #6 pick that year that he would have:

a) blown out his knee in his first training camp
b) continued hanging with his homies and constantly been in legal trouble
c) partnered with David Boston and his chemical diet
d) been released after three struggling seasons only to be signed by the Ravens and to go on to have Pro-Bowl years with them...

Wrong. The Cards would have franchised him in 2006 and then just as his contract was up Whisenhunt would have arrived, Suggs would have re-upped with the Cards to play for CKW and sacked Big Ben on the last play of the Super Bowl giving the Cards the Lombardi trophy.

or the 3 other sacks our Dline missed on the GW drive. The miss by DD & someone else on 2nd & 20 at the Stealer 1yd line still haunts my mind to this day.:bang::bang::bang:

McGinniss is hardly upset at the Cards, more at himself. The Titans were horrible last year relying on the guys up front to get a pass rush with four men and were way too conservative..just the Titan trying to dial up some heat compared to the poor results last season.
