Five-star 2026 Iowa women's basketball signee McKenna Woliczko added another award to her lengthy list of honors. Woliczko was named Cal-Hi Sports Winter Season Player of the Year this week.
The 6-foot-2 forward from San Bruno, Calif., has built quite an illustrious catalogue of distinctions in 2026 alone, including being named to the MaxPreps National Player of the Year watch list, a Naismith Trophy Girls' High School Player of the Year semifinalist, a member of the 2026 Team USA Junior Women's Basketball Nike Hoops Summit roster, and honored as a 2026 McDonald's All-American.
Woliczko and Archbishop Mitty are currently enjoying a well-earned first-round bye as part of the 2026 Open Division California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Girls Basketball Championship bracket.
Woliczko is Iowa's highest-ranked signee since Caitlin Clark in 2020, checking in as the nation's No. 6 player, the No. 2 power forward, and the No. 2 player from California, per 247Sports. She is also Jan Jensen's highest-ranked signee in her tenure as head coach of the Hawkeyes.
In 18 games played (14 regular season and 4 playoff games), Woliczko is averaging 21.0 points on 69.1% shooting from the field, 37.5% from 3-point range, and 79.4% from the free-throw line, to go along with 11.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.
Up next for Woliczko and the top-seeded Monarchs will be a home regional semifinal matchup on March 7 at 7 p.m. PT, with their opponent still to be determined.
