Addie Deal revealed on Monday that she plans to enter the transfer portal after just one season at Iowa.
Although Deal carried the weight of being the highest-rated Iowa signee since Caitlin Clark, there seemed to be something missing when it came to fully reaching her potential on a consistent basis. Even as she showcased breakthrough moments at times throughout her freshman season, there was still much to be desired and improvements to be made.
Even though it was expected that Iowa would see a few players enter the transfer portal, Deal wasn't the first name to come to mind for most Hawkeye fans.
As her now abbreviated stay at Iowa concludes, here's some of the reactions from Iowa fans digesting Deal's decision.

The transfer portal man...
No team can hide from it forever.
There's going to be some work to do for Jan Jensen and Co. in the portal.

As an avowed Deal fan, and someone who HARD believes in her ability, this sucks.
And I'm not going to say that I predicted this or whatever, because I absolutely did not and am VERY disappointed
End of the day, it's playing time. She wanted it, came in expecting it, and did not… https://t.co/WEZr6eTRCl

As long as we don't lose our best freshman from this past season, we'll be just fine... pic.twitter.com/FqVeK0s9bL

You'll see this from me all night: If you want the minutes, then you have to produce. People will say, "What about Kylie?" Kylie was a lockdown defender who shut down too many hella good players.
I think Addie will do well wherever she lands, but she didn't produce here. https://t.co/k0Qh2HodT4
