Iowa football landed another key transfer portal pledge, picking up a commitment from the FCS' leading rusher in former South Dakota running back L.J. Phillips Jr.

After Phillips visited Iowa this past week, the 5-foot-9, 225-pound running back decided his next chapter will be in Iowa City in the black and gold. Phillips led the FCS with 1,920 rushing yards on 295 carries and 19 touchdowns. The Wichita, Kan., native also added 28 catches for 195 yards with a touchdown.

Phillips joins the Hawkeyes with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
