The transfer portal can give, and the transfer portal can take away. In this case, the transfer portal is taking away from the Iowa Hawkeyes. They aren't losing anyone from their roster, but they are losing out on a highly talented guard who was available in the portal.
Finley Bizjack, the former Butler Bulldog, entered the transfer portal this year. He commanded a lot of attention with his play during the 2025-26 college basketball season and was a hot commodity. The Hawkeyes, who are seeing Bennett Stirtz depart, were viewed as potential suitors.
That is no longer the case. Finley Bizjack has committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers out of the Big 12.
Bizjack has spent three season wtih Butler, appearing in 98 games and notching 61 starts. He is coming off his best year yet collegiately, averaging 17.1 points per game. He shot 42.6% from the field and 34.6% from beyond the three-point line.
A product of Byron Nelson High School and Trophy Club, Texas, Bizjack is touted as a very highly ranked transfer portal guard. Per 247 Sports, Bizjack is viewed as a four-star portal recruit, ranking as the No. 9 combo guard and No. 48 overall player available via the transfer portal.
