The New Orleans Saints have selected defensive tackle Christian Miller in Round 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft -- a true nose who immediately upgrades the team's run defense from Day 1.

Once again, early impressions only tell part of the story, and it will take time before the full impact of this selection is truly known. Even so, it’s always worth evaluating the immediate value of a pick, so we’re going to share our thoughts, break down the fit, and hand out an initial grade for the Saints’ newest addition.

Grade: A-

The Saints add a major presence to the interior of their defensive line with the selection of Christian Miller. A powerful defender with excellent stability at the point of attack, Miller gives New Orleans an immediate anchor in the middle of its defense and should help strengthen one of the roster’s biggest weaknesses. What the team had hoped to get from Davon Godchaux, they will now look to find in Miller.

For a team that has struggled to stop the run over the last few seasons, this move feels like a clear step in the right direction and one that could pay dividends right away.
