LEBANON – The sixth annual Nashville IndyCar Music City Grand Prix was postponed until 2 p.m. CT (FOX) on July 20. The race was postponed due to heavy rain that hit Nashville Superspeedway.
The race was expected to start after the World Cup final. Both events were broadcast on Fox. The first weather warning clearing the grandstands at the Music City Grand Prix came at 2 p.m., and several more warnings followed.
By 7 p.m., the rain had stopped, and the dryers had started working on the 1.33-mile track. Another downpour, however, started at 7:45 p.m.
While there have been weather delays in the past, this is the first year the race has been postponed to a second day.
