The Fishers Freight opened the 2026 Indoor Football League season with a 45-27 victory over the Quad City Steamwheelers on Saturday night at the Fishers Event Center.

Freight quarterback Felix Harper threw for two touchdowns — both to CJ Windham — and ran for another to beat the reigning Eastern Conference champions. Fishers controlled the game for much of the second half.

Steamwheelers quarterback Daquan Neal threw for four touchdowns with a pair of interceptions.

The Freight took a 31-27 lead into the final quarter in a back-and-forth game that is typical of the league.

The Freight led 24-20 at the half on a 1-yard TD run by Harper, who also threw for a touchdown in the first half.

Neal threw for three of his TDs in the first half.
