Indiana men’s basketball, as we’ve documented, has been in need of a center from the high school recruiting ranks for half a decade.
The current staff, led by Darian DeVries, is on the case and has made progress with one of the top prospects at the position in the class of 2027. The Hoosiers have scheduled an official visit with Darius Wabbington, per Rivals national college basketball reporter Joe Tipton.
Wabbington recently announced the final six programs he’s considering with Indiana, Arizona, North Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville and Texas all being in the race to land his commitment. That’s a really, really competitive field and the Hoosiers should be glad to have locked in a visit.
Wabbington attends Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He’s rated as a 4-star prospect by Rivals, ranking in as the 2nd highest-rated center and 18th highest-rated prospect overall in the class. He’s rated as a 5-star prospect by 247Sports, ranking in as the 3rd highest-rated center and 13th highest-rated prospect overall in the class.
