After missing the past two games with a back injury, what does the Indiana Fever's (12-8) injury report say about Caitlin Clark's status for today's game against the Los Angeles Sparks (8-11) at Crypto.com Arena?
Clark is listed as probable (back). Fever center Aliyah Boston is also listed as questionable (right lower leg).
In the team's practice in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon, Clark said she is hopeful about playing against the Sparks. Clark has had a lengthy break since exiting in the third quarter of the Fever's June 24 contest against the Phoenix Mercury.
Clark was a full participant in yesterday's Fever practice. The 6-foot guard had been limited to individual workouts previously.
Clark indicated she might be on a minutes restriction if she does indeed return on Wednesday night.
"Very hopeful for tomorrow," Clark said of her status on Tuesday. "Obviously, I think it will be difficult for me to play both this one on Wednesday and then obviously the one on Thursday, but we’ll see… just getting back into it, I would assume I’d be on a minutes restriction tomorrow, still hopefully a little bit over 20 (minutes) if I’m able to go, and I feel like I will be, hopefully as practice goes well today.
"Just with it being a back-to-back, it's obviously kind of tough to get back into it, but then hopefully feel good after the game versus L.A. and then be available in Vegas, and then feel pretty positive going from there once we get back home as well. Feeling great. Everything's been good up until this point and hopefully have another great day of practice and be ready for tomorrow."
Clark is averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game on 43% field goal shooting and 34.4% 3-point shooting.
Tipoff between the Fever and Sparks is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT and will be televised on USA Network.
