Jemimah Rodrigues out, Pratika Rawal recalled for Asia Cup
India has been hit by an injury blow before the upcoming ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026, following Jemimah Rodrigues’ exclusion from the tournament due to a high-grade right hamstring tear.
The BCCI confirmed on August 14 that Rodrigues got injured on August 3 during her participation in The Hundred in England as part of Southern Brave. The severity of the injury was later assessed by the BCCI Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.
The Women’s Selection Committee has opted to include Pratika Rawal as the replacement for Rodrigues in the upcoming ACC Women’s Asia Cup. Rawal will make a return to the Indian T20I side after not making it into the team for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup.
Rodrigues’ injury is also expected to keep her off the India women’s cricket team for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
