India have officially returned to the No. 1 position in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after registering back-to-back victories over Zimbabwe in Harare. The Men in Blue sealed the top spot with a commanding 90-run win in the second T20I on July 25, 2026, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
A swift return to the summit
The Setback: India's remarkable 1,605-day reign at the top of the ICC T20I rankings came to an end earlier this month following a 4-0 series defeat to England during their UK tour.
The Comeback: Just two weeks later, a rejuvenated Indian side led by Shreyas Iyer responded in style, producing back-to-back victories over Zimbabwe to reclaim the No. 1 ranking.
The Difference: Although India and England are both on 268 rating points, India have edged back to the summit thanks to a superior ratings decimal, as per the ICC ranking system.
